Following up on Lauren’s post on WALE’s JUSTICE remix and its listenability, a rare find in the JUSTICE saturated blosphere with literally hundreds of remixes to choose, I’m posting the only DVNO remix that I can stand anymore…..no offense to justice, its just a testament to their production and originality that they are so damn popular. It’s from fellow Parisian Surkin and not only can I listen to it but I’ve had it on blast for the last couple weeks…. Surkin SEAMLESSLY reworks the track so that what comes out is true to the original but gives you something really different.
Don’t forget to check out Surkin on beatport or itunes for more of his stuff and higher quality bitrates (just go to his myspace and follow the links)…..also go check out Mehdi Pinson aka Scenariorock the crooner responsible for the songs famous lyrics and a bunch of other remix amunition
Laslty check out the video of his North American (REMEMBER MTL??) tour with Curses!, Surkin, Para One, Orgasmic that they did back in September. Three weeks on the road, thirteen cities, one camera, Jean-Baptiste de Laubier (aka Para One) filming constantly.
It’s called One More Songand here is episode one, originally realeased on the RCRDLBL site, with English subtitles (French subs are HERE) so you can enjoy the high-spirited banter. Forthcoming installments will follow the crew (and more) in Japan, Paris and all over Europe.
As Kanye would say, this track is another ‘champion sound’. A collaboration of his unique style and Estelle’s soulful sound, this track was just asking to get remixed. So, here is it:
Kill the Noise actually graced MTL with his presence a couple of weekends ago at CODA. He played alongside treasurefingers, another one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the venue was pretty empty…HOWEVER, both DJs FUCKING KILLED IT…and I DANCED ALL NIGHT LOOOOONGG…
You are all probably sick of remixes of D.A.N.C.E by now, but this one, by rapper Wale, is actually really nice to listen to…less electro for a change.
Los Angeles duo LAZRtag aka Luvtek and StellarDrv have been hitting the blogs hard with some remixes for a while now and they’ve just released this very LA-electro sounding single onto the internet, with a vocal contribution by Dani from Millionaires.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of grabbing one of Palms Out Sounds amazing zipped up goody bags overflowing with only the highest quality club crack then you’ve probably been blown away by one of Chew-Fu’s perfect fixes. A one man wrecking crew hailing from NYC, Chew-Fu is the most prolific and consistent producer I know. He actually makes Crookers look like lazy bums in comparison….check his myspace for a body of work comprised literally of hundreds of tracks, spanning a whole wack of different genres all fixed up and ready for the dance floor…..
So without further ado a taste of the serial fixers work…..make sure to check Chew’s myspace and check out him and Doug E Fresh’s new EP at Beatport!
Hometown hero A-TRAK has been killing it since 15. His list of accomplishments is retarded: He won the DMCs World DJ Championship in 1997 at the age of 15, the youngest recipient of the award ever. And he was the first Canadian to ever win the DMCs World DJ Championship. On top of being the youngest world champion, he is the only DJ to win all three major DJ competition titles (DMC, ITF and Vestax) and the first DJ to win five world championships.
And of course he’s Kanye’s DJ ….
…..and runs his own labels “Fool’s Gold” with Nick Catchdubs, responsible for rolling through Montreal every so often and putting on obscene Parties with a who’s who of the whatever it is you call our scene
And of course last but not least whatever production he touches, when he chooses to touch, is hot fire
PS: The pic above is a collaboration New era cap between Canadian brand Skoold In Korectnuss ‘ and A-Trak. The cap is decked out front to back and includes custom silk lining with the taglines “Sunglasses is a Must” and “Skoold In Korectnuss”.
Stereoheroes are two DJs from the South of France bringing us the dirty…Since I don’t actually know much about them, I thought I would post this quote coming from the artists themselves:
“As I said, we are CRUNK. We try to give love and pleasure to the audience. We like to disguise ourselves as pigs, pandas or elephants; we can definitely wear our underwear on top of our trousers, and have no trouble ending a DJ set naked. That’s why you should be there. And for the music too, we are trying to be crazy diggers and we’ve always got the latest banging sound. DJ sets are different every night depending on what we found in the afternoon – we like to surprise ourselves and to renew our sound constantly.”
Sounds like they would fit in great in our alternative hometown of MTL!
The space is small and intimate so tickets will be limited and and can be grabbed for $7
Tickets will be sold at Off the Hook, located at 1021 St. Catherine or you can get a hold of…..

Now you know Marty McFLy went back to the future in his custom gull winged Delorian but did you know????…..
…….The De Lorean DMC-12 is a sports car that was manufactured by the De Lorean Motor Company for the American market in 1981 and 1982 in Northern Ireland. It is most commonly known simply as theDe Lorean, as it was the only model ever produced by the company. The DMC-12 featured gull-wing doors with a fiberglass “underbody”, to which non-structural brushed stainless steel panels were affixed. A De Lorean was featured as a home-made time machine in the Back to the Future trilogy.
The first prototype appeared in March 1976, and production officially began in 1981 (with the first DMC-12 rolling off the production line on January 21 at the DMC factory in Ireland. During its production, several aspects of the car were changed, such as the hood (bonnet) style, wheels and interior. About nine thousand DMC-12s were made before production stopped in late 1982. Today, about 6,500 De Lorean Motor Cars are believed to still exist. The De Lorean Motor Company went bankrupt in late 1982 following John De Lorean‘s arrest in October of that year on drug trafficking charges. He was later found not guilty, but it was too late for the DMC-12.
