Check out the new MSTRKRFT video directed by Vincent Haycock. Set in a run-down dollar store the simple plot-line follows a couple star crossed lovers who share a moment in the middle of a carnivalesque fantasy….. Hipster hoodlums run amok through the hyper-kitschy playground while the hispanic father has a nice nap…. the skinny jeaned, cardigan rocking, combover loverboy is just about to steal a kiss when the father wakes up and the dream is shattered….

Pretty standard fare but a whole heck of a lot better than that BOUNCE video….. and it is cool to see a song that most of the big blogs where hating on starting to blow up… Which just goes to show you guys who might have hated on Fist Of God…. MSTRKRFT still knows what there doing!

Still I think it’ll be there next album, which is supposedly already well underway, that will be there serious mainstream breakout album…. They’ll figure out what went wrong with their first serious attempt at crossover pop electro tweak it and come out with something that is going show the world that electro’s got more to offer than “Boom Boom Pow”

And on that note what did you guys think about the Fist of God album?….. Most of the big blogs weren’t to overly enthusiastic and a lot of DJs I talked to weren’t so into it…. I thought it was pretty dope except maybe they just didn’t have enough catchy hooks…. too focused on the sound and the intensity….. My friend thought with all the crazy apeggiating it sort of sounded like one long guitar solo….Any thoughts on where they went wrong? What they did right?

Its been a fucking super hectic week once again. Pride has officially replaced NXNE with yet another excuse for bars to get a 4 am liscence, and the best/worst is still yet to come. It was my night off last night, so i decided to get ripped and head out to WRONGBAR which showcased a line up off all chick dj’s who threw down hard! The night was super rad, i ended up losing all my friends and taking some compromising photos which will most likely surface on facebook in the near future. And yet amongst all the madness, i found something in my brain i can talk about on here.

Edits are definetly a huge part of my set. It’s basically squeezing all the juice out of your favourite tracks, putting it in a blender adding a few chops and your own beats, and VOILA, its a recipe to hype up the crowd. I usually don’t post these smaller edits of tracks that i do for live shows, but fuck it.

Its been a pretty lazy sunday for me. I’ve gotten sick once again and I’m trying to get better before I ship off to Hawaii. I’m lying on my couch watching the USA vs Brazil soccer game (is the US really up 2-0 or am I tripping on cold medicine?)

Anyways I was going to post up some tracks as per usual, but I found this sick video from Electronic Daisy Carnival in LA. Usually a bit more of the “Kandy” rave crowd, this year Diplo, DJ AM, Foamo, Fake Blood, Boys Noize, and others descended upon the LA Coliseum. Been hearing its crazy through Twitter, here’s a vid to prove just how live the festival is!
