  This past weekend, I had the priveledge of hooking up with my boy Ernold Sane in the city of sin for a sick ass show with Teen Wolf and BLWNSPKRS. The venue was a total dive bar, wherein hooka pipes were smoked, ankles were mangeled  (VID UP SHORTLY) imported red wine was drunk, and all round fucking sick times were had. Big ups for Teen Wolf for showing us around the strip! In Barletta musical news this week, i’ve taken the electro prodigy’s “The Phantoms Revenge,” and remixed there new single “Dr Jekle and Mr Hyde” for all you french electro lovers. Patrice from NROTB sent me over the finished product of their anticipated Amanda Blank remix this morning.  A dark bouncy beat lays the foundation for the infectious vocals.   The recently minted NROTB sound gives an often corny seeming track just the right edge, allowing uber hipsters and party neophites alike to lose their shit to Amanda’s slutty cute voice and mega catchy lyrics.

Toronto’s own (and former Degrassi star), Aubrey “Drake” Graham has been making serious waves stateside. Originally supported by Lil Wayne, his Mixtape “So Far So Gone” was one of the biggest non-retail releases of the year. Most Hip-Hop fans have been really into his stuff, and the girls seem to really dig the guy. He’s certainly on the road to becoming the biggest Canadian Rapper of all time.

Fellow Canadian, Grandtheft put out this remix of “Best I Ever Had” which is really climbing the HypeM charts. I really appreciate how GT kept the groove laidback and chill, rather than just throwing Drake’s vocals over a blaring synthline. Great remix or a great song. Toronto stand up!
