METROPOLIS – TRUST IN THE ‘M’ MACHINE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14zfVItUev8
So this teaser video just came out which features some really heavy ‘shit your pants’ electro. The graphics in the video certainly act as a laxative as well. Rumors are swirling about who Metropolis is/are but I have been informed on good authority that it is the revival of Pance Party. I don’t really care, I just want to wash my pants.

Wool & Spoek – Kult Leader

This track is fat. I miss gangster vocals over jackin beats. Video is hype too.

SABELA’S SCREENING OF TSOTSI

For all you locals Montreal’s the charity organization Sabela are putting on a screening of the movie Tsotsi in the Frank Dawson Adams Auditorium of McGill University tomorrow.

This is a crazy movie set in the urban ghetto of modern day Johannesburg, South Africa, this psychological thriller takes you 6 days into the life of a young, ruthless shantytown gangster who is forced to confront his brutal nature.

The soundtrack is front and center and totally different… composed by South African artist Zola this guy has some serious swagger…. Cool too check out what else South Africa has to offer other than Die Antwoord.

So if you’d like to support a good cause and are in the Montreal area go check out Sabela’s screening of Tsotsi. The movie will be on the big screen and it will run from about 6PM-730PM. And wherever you are if you like a good gangster flick with a powerful message I suggest checking it out

Dorian Concept Live at CFC

Dorian Concept is a Vienna based composer and musician, a child piano prodigy who went onto study music composition in Salzburg. He is currently one of the most exciting artists working in electronic music; his fusion of jazz, electronics and club music is as exciting as it is unique.

Next Thursday, Dorian will be stopping by CFC (formally Zoobizarre) in Montreal for a special live set. This is definitely going to be a special night, with DJ support from Joe Shabadu, Jacques Greene, Rilly Guilty and Seb Diamond. All the info can be found on the facebook event.

Justice – Civilization featuring Ali Love

So the full version of Civilization just dropped and I think its pretty good. Ali Love does vocals… I know you got to change it up but I’m weighing this against Mehdi Pinson on DVNO and I’m not quite sure if it lives up.

The classic Justice piano stabs and percussion are all there and it bridges the gap between funk and rock like only they can. Is it a tour de Force…. probably not… But compared to so many of the other 2006 electro era it is a sick run up to what Im sure is going to be an awesome sophomore album.

METRONOMY – THE ENGLISH RIVIERA

Metronomy are a UK band spearheaded by Joseph Mount, the singer and songwriter for the band.  They’ve been around since 1999 but you may have first heard them when Breakbot remixed their track “A Thing for Me” a while back.  They’ve also done remixes for some big names such as Gorillaz, Klaxons, Franz Ferdinand, and Lykke Li.  They’ve got a new album coming out called “The English Riviera” which has recently leaked.  The two songs below are both from the new album.  If you like this, buy it.  But if you’re looking for a full “preview” I’m sure you can find the leaked album somewhere out there…
