My partner Nate just got back from EDC and obviously said it was an insane time… Afrojack by the pool… Seas of fake tees… Insane music out in a desert…. And hey no one died this time! For those of us who can’t be so lucky here’s the live sets.
Big thanks to Chemical Jump for putting together this list
Looking for tracks last night for our last set at the Social before it closes down was an emotional moment… we put this one in. So sick.. Love the way it builds… So much thick energy. Went down well even with the younger Social crowd
As you may know, Ali Love is the one who did the vocals on Justice’s “Civilization”. Here is some Ali Love again, with a remix by Alvin Risk. I haven’t heard the original, but this track is an interesting prime-time dubstep track. It sounds a little bit like the Skrillex remix of Cinema at the beginning, but the drop is where the track really shines with an almost dutchy/techno dubstep drop. Definitely going to play this one out in future sets.

Rogerseventytwo does not get enough love…I have been playing out some of his tracks since my first year of DJing. They were bangers then and bangers now but never seemed to blow up. Similiar story is his track You take me Higher which has been out for a minute but didn’t really seem to take off. Then all of a sudden it got huge with A-Trak and tons of Djs repping it. Now we know why…A-Trak is finally properly releasing it on Fools GOld and hopefully this is the start of something major for roger. The new release includes two more original tracks and a remix by NT89.

Pryda just released a new EP called “Mirage” on his label Pryda Recordings. All of the tracks on it are very good, my favorite being “Juletider”. I haven’t listened to very much Pryda since “Miami to Atlanta”, but the production on this EP makes me want to go back and see what I’ve missed. He’s got a very analog sound, and creates pretty hard hitting music without the use of any transformers sounds/wobbles/car alarms/growls/yoys/copious amounts of distortion. Well done.

More and more techno is creeping into my sets as of late, and the trend will continue if bangers like this keep getting put out. I really only like techno when it’s H.A.F., and this definitely fits the bill.

I’ve fallen off a bit of following the Bloody Beetroots, but this new remix is making me headbang at my desk. Sure it sounds like all their other songs, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good.
