The official video to Nero‘s brand new single, ‘Promises‘ just dropped. Rock meets Dubstep… reminds me of the old stadium Electro days. Anyway who captures that big rock sound in electronic music always seems to kill it… Justice, MSTRKFT, Vitalic, Sub Focus…. And Nero… And yet there’s so little of it… Tis a shame.
Little Dragon’s third album, Ritual Dragon drops in 3 weeks In the meantime you’ve got the remix package to check out. The release features ritual Union and then gets remix treatments by Maya Jane Coles and Tensnake while “Nightlight” gets remixed by Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
I haven’t been keeping up on my tensnake despite being one of my favorite producers and having some of the best soundloud mix sets out there. Not sure if this scratched the itch but definitely makes me want to get back on the Tensnake trainl
Montreal, you’re in for a treat tomorrow night, Slowed is coming to you! As I’m sure you know, Torro Torro are the shit and this is their party. I’ve been playing their tracks “Knockin Boots” and “Blue Blouse” all year long as staples in my sets. They are one of the biggest reasons why I have grown to like Moombahton and this party is a perfect opportunity to see what the genre is really capable of doing (including making girls get naked). These guys are super talented and are definitely one of the best things happening in dance music for Canada right now. I also had the pleasure of playing “Bassmentality” alongside Lucie Tic a little while ago, and she is definitely worth going to see. Go to this event, you have to see to believe. The flying dewey brothers behind Soulwax, have just unveiled their new project, an online ‘radio station’ which will showcase multi-media mixes via the interweb and as an app.
Radio Soulwax just launced with six hour long mixes from the Belgian duo, with every audio mix accompanied by bespoke visual content.
Another hour’s length mix will be added to the site each week for 18 weeks…. a full days worth of music in total.
The DJs introduced Their first mix introversy as such:
“It is actually quite a good introduction to Radio Soulwax as quite lot of tracks that are featured in the mix will come back in later hours to follow. The animated sleeves give the mix a whole new dimension!”
