Sulley’s August Moombahton Chart

So at the beginning I was never the biggest fan of dubstep but then got turned onto it real hard… It was the same at first with moombahton until I started thinking maybe I was just being a huge hater.  The problem with new music fads is they usually have like this one trait to it that is really accessible… Like the tempo changes of dubstep and Moombah or the drums of bmore… that let anyone pick up on this really easy thing to do and start massacring perfectly good songs.  But as with any type of music there is good and bad…  so I asked my friend Sandor (Pictured above) whos on the forefront of Moombah in Mtl to put together an epic chart of tracks to see if he could convert me

I’ve got to say just on the sex appeal of some of the tracks alone he may have done it  but I’ll let you guys decide.

1.BLAQSTARR – RYDA GIRL (DAVE NADA MOOMBAHSOUL REMIX)

2.HEARTBREAK & TODDLA T – BLAZE UP

Justice Audio Video Disco Leaks – Analysis

Thought I’d put together a group of all the supposed leaks/fakes and do a brief analyse of them because I really just want this album to drop and some of them really are cool…

I’ll also give a nice caveat… I did no deep research about whether these are real or not…but a cursorary glance at google says no one knows…That’s not the point though… the point is I’m just using my own musical background and love of Justice to tell you whether I think they are real or not.

And that’s mostly beause when it comes to Santa Clause and Justice sometimes the truth just ruins the magic.

I’ve organize these from best to worst… the best are great and are very passable and I have made some really stupid predictions that they are real…. the worst obviously suck

You decide for yourself which are real or not

Ok so first off we have a live recording of Audio Video Disco so you can kind of get a good feel for where there going. Its epic verging on cheesy… Its arena rock/70s80s movie themes updated for the electro era. The buildups is big piano chords backed by the repetitive vocal and loops. You can see where they went from planisphere… It feels like there going for what Daft Punk accomplished so well with there Alive album… Lots of repetition and loops with big long interesting buildups that are about ebb and flow and momentum vs Down up Down Up.

We also have civilization… So serious vocal/robotic synths and again with the big cheesy chords and of course there famous handclap drums.

Anyways so far I actually like some of these leaks/fakes better… So on Y vas!

The Good…

Ok well that opening line is taken from daft Punk and the vocal is Alex C Clap your hands so a fake? Unless they sampled it… but still I have to say I think this is sick. So good fake. Like really good… like that guitar/synth solo? AWESOME… And its got that Daft Punk french touch all over it…If its stolen then what track is that from because its awesome.. Honestly I almost want to say real because I know no one other than Daft Punk and Justice who can do guitar synth solos like that.

Again another good one…

don’t know what to say about this one… that vocal synth is so raw and sick… I don’t really think we could make a vocal synth sound that good on youtube so Im kind of thinking it could be them. You can hear on Civiliztion that there definitely following i Daft pUnks foosteps with that sound. its also got those daft punk high pitch duck calls in there…everythings rough and there’s alot of noise but the drums still sound good… handclaps etc all justice hallmarks

that breakdown doesnt sound very justice but who knows. The song sounds similar to Kavinsky’s nightcall which was produced by Guy-Manuel from daft punk and remixed by Xavier… listen to that here and tell me you dont see the similarity….

Fuck I like all these tracks so either way Im getting duped,… Which I love!!!!

K i have no idea… this one would have to be really rough I dont know any tracks with unintelligle vocals… But they do sound like Justice lyrics nonetheless… But could be a very early draft? Who knows maybe Im an idiot but regardless if I showed up and Liam had this worked up I’d know with some work we’d have a massive track with whats there now…so its possible.

I should really refamiliarize myself with the pubclicly stated vocalists on the album but Im in a crazy hurry.

Again if someone knows the origin let me know… Im really interested.

Calvin Harris – Feel So Close to you

Just saw this posted on facebook… such an awesome happy song… here’s to everyone having a wicked saturday night!

Finally the new Justice album is here… Almost.

Listen to Justice Audio, Video, Disco

Justice has announced their new album and supposedly its going to be exactly what I was hoping — a massive Arena rock album called Audio, Video, Disco.  Some lucky bastard from pitchfork got a sneak listen and has dubbed it a animatronic amalgam of every band that caused people to raise their fists in the 70s.  Well whatever that means its sounds awesome and I am excited for a few leaks/previews etc.

The album features the usual suspects from  Diamond Nights‘ Morgan Phalen, to Vincenzi Vendetta of Midnight Juggernauts, and Ali Love on first single “Civilization”.

and in case you want to start hunting for some fake/leaked tracks off the album so far some of the names are supposedly ohio, cannon, parade.

But you can ind a full interview with them over here which is cool since this is the first I’ve heard from them in a long time.

The arena-rock-inspired LP is due out October 25!

Introducing KwikFiks

Hey guys, its been TIME since I’ve posted anything so I’m gonna catch you guys up. Around the end of April I had the idea of starting a new alias, something to put the new music I’ve been focusing on under. That new alias is KwikFiks. KwikFiks is focused around Future Garage and Future Bass and is definitely a lot more chilled out than the music I make as Strava. I found my self listening to more and more UK Bass music and it just made sense to throw a North American feel to a UK sound. I hope you guys enjoy this new side of things.

And as for Strava rest assured that Strava isn’t going anywhere, there is currently a fair amount in the works, such as a collab with Guapo of the Saints and some new tracks.

You can keep up to date by following KwikFiks on Twitter, Soundcloud, and on Facebook.

Nero – Welcome Reality Album and Streets of Rage Video Game

Nero – Doomsday (Exclusive Preview) [HD] from Drone V on Vimeo.

Nero s for awhile now has seemed the righful heir to the Justice throne of stadium electronic rock music and this new album cements that title… Tracks like Doomsday and Me and You are the perfect mesh of ROck N Roll and electronic.   I’ve listened to most of the album now and would say this is one that you should support.

They also launched a new game on their Facebook page called ‘Streets of Rage’  If you remember the video to ‘Me & You’ well that’s the game in its real form.

The album isnt currently available in the North American itunes but if your across the pond grab it here… And for everyone else go steal it I guess and pay for the show next time they’re around.
