Magnetic Man Essential Mix (Link via Gottadancedirty)

Magnetic Man is the new live dubstep outfit put together by two of my favorite guys in the genre Skream and Benga and their friend Artwork. They just put out an essential mix for the project, which really showcases just how epic dubstep can be. I caught a bit of their set at Wireless Fest in London, and I’ve got to say that they really are bringing an exciting new spin to the hottest genre of the year. With Skream’s new LP around the corner, its a good time for fans of 140.

So if you didn’t know it by now Daft Punk is soundtracking the upcoming sequel to 80’s classic Tron. Apparently the masked duo will also be making cameos in the film. 19 are dead and 340 are injured after a stampede at the Love Parade festival in Duisburg, Germany.  Apparently, the site and its tunnel entrance were too small for the festival’s massive crowd, and people were trampled to death when police blocked off the exit to the tunnel.  German prosecutors are launching a full investigation into the tragedy, and the festival’s organizers say that this will be the last Love Parade.  Read the full story here, at the BBC.

Was checking out Hypem’s most popular and saw a trentemoller remix of this track was charting and as its kind of a favourite of mine for that weird like metallic twangy out of key synth sound that’s so evocative of vitalic or some of boy 8 bits stuff so I decided to repost. When Radiohead was working on lp7 Thom took some time out to lay down some very old school Eraser type lyrics over a very moody beat by legendary Berlin producers Modeselektor. Mr. Yorke is a huge supporter of the IDM outfit and and the track is the Radiohead frontrunner at his finest.

Lately I’ve been digging anything with a big and funky bassline. After hearing the first track on Round Table Knights’ live set from Sonar (posted here) I knew I had to have it. After a couple days of digging I finally found out it was ‘Keep On Keepin’ On’ by Chopstick and Johnjon. At eleven and a half minutes this tune just rolls on and on with absolutely incredible vocals and a great breakdown around the 5 minute mark. I’ve been starting every day off with this track.
