An alternate (and in my opinion better) video for KiD CuDi’s Pursuit of Happiness, just dropped.

I just got back from two weeks in the UK, and I didn’t go a day without hearing the name Ellie Goulding. There has been a whirlwind of hype across the pond, which recently propelled Goulding’s debut album “Lights” to number 1 on the UK charts. Her songs feature a heavily electronic influenced sound, which is the result of her collaborations with Frankmusik, and his protegé Starsmith. Following in the steps of artist like Lady Gaga, La Roux and Little Boots, the reign of the indie/electro/synthpop hybrid continues.

That big track that a few people were proposing was Justice was recently announced as an Erol Alkan and Boys Noize collab called Lemonade set to be released as a double EP with Avalanche ….  Erol Alkan was quoted as being proud of the confusion.

The track is pretty dope… If only these would drop more than once every two months we’d never have to worry again

Here’s a sick promo video pairing legendary “Soul Assasin” DJ Muggs with streetwear brand UNDFTD. A sick message from Muggs himself, relevant to DJs of all types.

Kanye has been keeping a low-profile since the whole VMA debacle and subsequent over-reaction. Everyone’s dying to know what’s next for Mr. West, and more importantly what’s going on in his head these days. 808’s and Heartbreaks was a pretty major departure from previous records, and really showcased an emotional depth that is rarely seen atop the pop charts. This video for Coldest Winter, accompanied by a special remix of the song by Kanye himself, is absolutely amazing. It really is a shame that the Lady Gaga tour never happened, can you imagine what those two would have cooked up.

By now you have probably heard about the upcoming live show from The Bloody Beetroots, entitled Death Crew 77. I’m personally really interested in how this will all work out, and whether Bob Rifo can once again destroy what we think we know about electronic music. I have to say this video has got me really excited. The song is badass, and the video is even crazier. The newly formed “Death Crew” running through the woods being chased by pseudo SS officers? Sir Rifo certainly knows how to create an image that is for sure.

Ok so not the most thought provoking, entertaining or elaborate video blog post but two very interesting things to note…. The synth collection (Holy s&%t the synth collection) and that we have the  David Macklovitch guarantee that Chromeo’s album is dropping this August….. Can’t fucking wait

By the way did you know that Mr. Macklovitch is currently earning his Ph.D in French Literature from Columbia University, where he also teaches undergraduate French classes?  Weirrdddddd
