In less than 2 weeks notice we through a photography exhibit in a pop-up gallery we converted from an old Bitcoin Bank. The exhibit, which was during Montreal's Mural festival, highlighted 6 Montreal based photographers who used the opportunity to showcase their relationship with the city. The photographs, which ranged from portraits to landscapes to stills, were submitted by Rupert LaMontagne, Kane Ocean, Ceelia Spenard-Ko, Trontell Jordan, Koku Awuye, and Richard Lam. Alongside our partners Cannon and The Creator Class we couldn't be happier with the way the exhibit turned out and we look forward to more gallery projects in the near future.
Vice alongside Banque Nationale asked Zach Macklovitch, one of our founders, to be a part of a piece highlighting the realities and struggles of being a nightlife entrepreneur. The 5 minute segment, all in French, showcases not only Zach and all 3 of our Montreal venues, but also discusses what is next for Saintwoods.
We teamed up with New York based creative collective The Spaghetti Boys to release a limited edition tee and hoodie. To commemorate the event the Spaghetti Boys came up to Montreal to host one of their legendary events at Apt.200 and brought along their good friend Luka Sabbat to host. We're happy to say the products sold out shortly after they dropped but to peep the design head over to our shop.
Our friends over at Places + Faces let us know about their upcoming music based subsidiary and asked if we would be able to come up with a logo for their project. Showing interest in one of our lead designers Thomas Pilgrim's artwork, we asked Thomas to flush out a couple of ideas and send them over. Ciesay and the team identified the one they liked and we delivered the files shortly there after. Listen to the first P+F tape here and stay tuned for more projects with our friends from across the pond.
