Kanye West’s New Blog: kanyewest.com (Kanye 2010)
So Kanye just dropped his new blog Kanye 2010 and just like the man himself its larger than life…. The blog is just supersized pictures that take up the entire width of the screen… With most blogs reverting to small hypebeast type of layout I think its pretty refreshing and cool.
If you guys haven’t checked it before Kanye actually uses his blog…. his posts are uncensored, uncut and in caps lock. I’ve got in in my google reader and its a pretty good read.
MTV rolled out a few of their favourite Kanye West blog comments and Im just going to leave their article here: (MORE AFTER THE JUMP)
» After many fans publicly complained about his performance at the 2008 Bonnaroo festival (where there were issues over his set time, which ended up being in the wee hours of the morning), he took to his blog to get his feelings off his chest. “I am sick of negative people who just sit around trying 2 plot my downfall,” West wrote. “Why???? I understand if people don’t like me because I like me or if people think tight clothes look gay or people say I run my mouth to much. But this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I’ve ever had in my life. This is the most offended I’ve ever been … this is the maddest I ever will be.”
» West had similar bile reserved for the Web site that suggested that he would be involved in a porno film back in January of 2009. The rapper was frustrated that he had been brought down just after performing for Barack Obama and debuting his new Louis Vuitton shoes.
“Yoooo, why won’t you let me be great!!!” he wrote (again, always in all-caps). “I had the two greatest days of my life, and when I get back from the Louie [sic] show, I read some sh– claiming I said I’m down to do porn and some bisexual porn!!!! I can’t believe the AVN [Adult Video News] would post [that story].”
» However, his blog hasn’t always been reserved for rage. After a 2009 episode of “South Park” eviscerated him, West took to the site not to rage at the show’s creators but to share some things he realized about himself. ” ‘South Park’ murdered me last night, and it’s pretty funny. It hurts my feelings, but what can you expect from ‘South Park?’” he wrote. “I actually have been working on my ego. … Having the crazy ego is played out at this point in my life and career. I used to use it to build up my esteem when nobody believed in me. Now that people do believe and support my music, the best response is ‘Thank you’ instead of ‘I told you so!’ I just wanna be a doper person, which starts with me not always telling people how dope I think I am. I need to just get past myself. Drop the bravado and just make dope product.”
