NAMM 2010
As the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) trade show wraps up in Anaheim this weekend, obviously the biggest buzz overall was about the huge Serato/Ableton collaboration. The ability to incorporate production seamlessly into live, vinyl/cdj controlled DJ sets is going to be a massive game-changer in the coming years. HOWEVER, there were still another few exciting product announcements made at the show, including a slimmed down AKAI Ableton controller, a Rane DJM-800 lookalike with Serato built in, and two different CDJ-style midi controllers. Since I wasn’t at the show, I can’t really give you guys a great run-down on these developments, but I’d suggest the following sites if you’re interested in this sort of thing: Skratchworx and DJ Tech Tools. In the future, we’re gonna try to start doing some technology features here on SW.com, so stay tuned…
