I’m starting off the week with a twist with these two. Generally I am seriously opposed to mash ups, but in a sea of nostalgia I have caved. These two tracks throw back concepts to when we all started to learned how to blend tracks, and when you excitedly realised , “Oh shit, these sounds great together.” The first of which is a Tape Deck Bros. song called “Science Fiction,” which is an arpeggiated masterpeice which flawlessly fit with Gaga’s new smash hit, “Telephone”. The second is none other than the all familiar indie hero’s of the UK, the XX, wherein I mashed Crystalised with Supermodes “Tell me why.”

It’s true. It’s been way to long since I have written up in this peice, but I swear the delay in blogging is certainly going to pay off. I got a brand new spankin new track for you guys, which I did with my good friend from Amsterdam Gianni Marino. For all the blog electro fiends, you may be dissapointed, but It’ll pump in a club in all it’s romantic splendor , I swear .
Cheers!
P.S… FOR ALL THOSE IN MTL, GET YOUR ASS TO CLUB SODA TONIGHT!!!

I personally think this band is fucking bollocks, but I have to admit with these emo-pop sensationalists, they do have catchy ass hooks. In doing the edit for this, I went for a prydz vs electro feel just cause it worked with the vocals. It’s pretty rad, the girls seem to eat it up .
Alright here it is, get ready for the weekend, it’s time to fucking rage it! This week I got a remix for you that will shock some, as im taking my pop punk and screamo influences, and progging them out. No one would really think that the emo stylings of sir Dallas Green would cut it for a electro track, but his shit actually works proper on this one!
Last summer, the day after the biggest music festival of the year, we decided to shoot a video for Saintwoods.com author Barletta’s popband the Mak3out. I’m not sure how it was decided that the day after Time festival was a good date to shoot and at the time I was seriously doubting that a single person would show up… But friendship, loyalty and the fear of pissing off Barletta’s manager, all-around badass Anna Von, was enough incentive to corral up a string of Toronto’s finest party animals. With maybe 24 hours of sleep between 30 people we got to re-enacting a more pg-13 version of the last night’s party. Basically the plot of this video pretty much summed up the actual events of the day as our house was invaded by a huge crew of hipsters in full emo gear. But underneath the black eyeliner and the Rugby shirts everyone basically loves a good kegger and the day turned out to be a blast as everyone bonded over liquor, pizza and Barletta’s super catchy pop track.
All in all, I think for one of the first videos put out by Saintwoods director in residency, the esteemed Ray Klonsky, it turned out pretty good… Who knows maybe teenyboppers everywhere will soon be humming the lyrics and putting posters of Barletta up in their bedrooms
I don’t know about you, but everytime I go to Montreal, I end up gaining a renewed love for electro and rave. I got to play Blue Dog just this past friday with those NUJAX cats, and the party was absolutely bonkers! They packed that place, and for a fucking pub, it was near close to having people crowd surfing which was hella rad.
I know I haven’t posted any music for a week or two on this site, so here’s a french electro banger to take you back to the early 2000’s with a remix of the Killers , “Smile like you mean it.”
Halloween at Wrongbar was completley insane! Nav and Dale tore the place a new asshole, and the crowd was absolutely on fire, dressed to the nines in costumes and ready for hell. This weekend, I decided to chill out and make you guys an out of the ordinary mixtape, unlike anything I have ever done before. So break out the old cassettes boys and girls, here’s one thats full of electro, rock, rap, pop and other fine musical genres that’ll you’ll surely love, hate, and admire.

I think at this point most everyone realizes that the Bloody Beetroots show on Saturday is going to be the craziest night of our lives. The show they played at S.A.T. in April is still the craziest and best electro event I’ve ever attended. Obviously I’m most excited to see the Beetroots, but I’m also super excited that Toronto’s Torro Torro has been added to the bill. These guys have absolutely killed everything they have touched since they started releasing material this summer. Their remix of Barletta’s ‘Panther’ was my favorite track of the summer. Check out the stuff in their myspace player, linked above, cause its all absolute fire. One track not on the site is their remix of Esser’s ‘Work It Out’. It’s a straight electro banger and I cannot get enough of it. Enjoy the track and GET READY FOR SATURDAY! _Work It Out (Torro Torro Remix) Esser – Work It Out (Torro Torro Remix)
