Last night the internet was a blaze with talks of Brodinski’s latest installment of “The Best of Everything” mixtape series, following some tweets from the man himself. Unlike the first installment which featured a two part mix, featuring Hip-Hop and Electro selections, the second installment compiled a batch of fresh remixes of mainstream tracks by a bunch of the biggest up and comers. The entire tracklist as well as previews can be seen at XLR8R, and the mix can be downloaded here.
A couple days ago I noticed a new live set had appeared from one of my favorite DJs, Brodinski His set was recorded when he played the Kill Em All night at Fabric in London in May. You may remember that here at Saintwoods we also recorded Brodinski’s set from one of our parties which can be found here. While his set in montreal had serious tropical house vibes going on, this more recent set leans a bit more towards the techno side of things, with some nice house bits as well. And as we’ve come to expect, its all pulled together by two hours of exquisite mixing. Enjoy!
Just got back from a week in Halifax, hence the lack of posts with my name on them over the past week. While I was away it seemed like the internet was flooded with free mixtapes, promo mixes, and live sets from all over the electronic music spectrum. I thought I’d dedicate a post to all of these by simply embedding the Soundcloud players from all of the respective artists so you can stream and download with ease! We’ve got Saintwoods’ favorite Brodinski’s newest HipHop/Electro Mixtape, a live set from Montreal native Tiga, Solo’s newest mix packed with tons of exclusives, and finally 2 hours of amazing house music from one of my favorite groups Round Table Knights.
Saintwoods.com is proud to present the kick off to our live mix series. The series will feature raw unedited live mixes of some of the world’s biggest DJs as they roll through Saintwoods events. This will provide an exclusive chance to hear the biggest unreleased tracks, and see the direction that these DJs are taking.
Starting off will be a huge set that Brodinski threw down last month at our party at the SAT.
Not to sound like a tool or anything, but I was on the Jerk tip pretty early, you can dig up some posts on my old blog if you want evidence. Anyways, back patting aside, Brodinski just put out a new mixtape on Discobelle showcasing some big tracks form this sound. I’ve also heard a recent Solo mix with a song by New Boyz, one of the bigger acts in the Jerkin’ movement. At first this was baffling, but the more I thought about this, it made a lot of sense. The new midget-house/minimal wave sweeping over house, has quite a bit of sonic similarity to the Jerkin’ sound. I wonder if Brodinski will drop any Jerkin’ tracks at Woodwork.

It was a cold night in Montreal. -43 degrees to be exact. Those who braved the extreme conditions were witness to one of the most well rounded sets in recent memory. We recorded it for your listening pleasure and will be posting it in the near future along with a video interview and footage from the night. Until then, enjoy some pictures and follow the links to hit up our friends Goldzmine, 4mtl, and nightlife who came out and took photos. Bigs up to KIMBERLY KITTY and the whole SW team B. Neal, Chef Brian, and the ever popular and gaining fame Kid Aloha for killing the opening sets. Check more pics after the JUMP! … Read more
If I remember correctly, both Foamo and Brodinski dropped this tropical bomb this weekend. Douster (I sadly missed him at Igloofest), who may be most notable right now for his Lion King sampling track ‘King Of Africa’ has got a style all to his own. His remix of ‘Afronuts’ sounds like something out of a crazy Caribbean rave and definitely gets the crowd going wild.

Today, I’m pleased to present some new remixes from a few of Montreal’s finest.
First, we have NROTB‘s bouncy ‘carnival’ version of Drop the Lime‘s new track. While the original’s epic vocals do provide some prime source material for a remix, I couldn’t see anyone doing a better job on this song. If you like what you hear, check out our earlier posts on NROTB for their song ‘Droplet,’ as well as their Amanda Blank remix.
Even in the overpopulated world of Peanuts Club remixes, I think this new one by Dooze Jackers is a standout. This is also their first remix as a production team, which is pretty exciting.
