Red Bull Music Academy was held earlier this month, in London, bringing together some of the world’s brightest young artists in one place. The academy has an incredibly unique and rigorous application process, and brings together artists from a number of different genres. A number of big name established artists were brought in to give lectures to the academy, and Red Bull was good enough to post up high quality video streams. Here’s an awesome clip of Busy P’s guest lecture, where he talks about his history as a manager, artist and label head.
Until about 2 weeks ago I had never heard of Boris Dlugosch. This appears to be the case with the rest of the world as he seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Last week he released ‘Bangkok’ on Erol Alkan’s label Phantasy Sounds. Hype surrounding the track has grown to astronomical levels after it started being played at festivals in late summer. First I heard it was a new Afrojack track, then that it was the new Crookers track, etc, etc, etc. Alkan has been the biggest supporter of the track thus far and Busy P just dropped it in his Essential Mix. This is definitely going to contend for track of the year. Sadly, since it’s an official release, I can only up the track at 128 kbps, but if you like what you hear, buy it over at Beatport.
