BARLETTA : FUNKY TEXAS FREESTYLERS MIX

So after a ton of flight transfers, 2 am drives to buffalo, I find myself in the land of good old American excess, TEXAS! I got in yesterday, after getting sufficiently wasted on the plane with this awesome mexican. Our conversation was very intruiging, and when I asked him where I could get weed, he smiled and gave me his business card. For those who watched breaking bad, I shit you not, this guy owns a massive chain of fried chicken stores. Simply amazing.

Anyways, day two here.  Lot’s of time spent by the pool , margaritas, beer, all that good shit right?  I’m playing at Detox tonight, and before I wanna leave you guys with a little mix I did of The Freestlyers’ – “Push Up”

Barletta : NUBLA – JAPAN (BARLETTA REMIX!)

Saturday at wrongbar was absolutely fucking insane!  By 11:45 everyone packed into Wrongbar to make the night of my Whisper E.P release (Tremendous Records) a resounding success.   People got messy, dancing their asses off till the strike of 3 am thanks to my man GT Audio of Team Canada Dj’s who dropped era hits, one after the other, until the crowd could not take anymore!  The day before my release, I found myself at the College and Yonge Starbucks sheltered by the rain in a quite creative space.  A few hours later, using the transition of the weather from Summer-Spring-Winter as my muse, I came up with this edit of this Italian song Japan, by the artist , “NUBLA.”  It’s a total softy, so drop the jack and coke for breakfast and pick up a java and vibe out to this biyatch!

Its been a fucking super hectic week once again. Pride has officially replaced NXNE with yet another excuse for bars to get a 4 am liscence, and the best/worst is still yet to come. It was my night off last night, so i decided to get ripped and head out to WRONGBAR which showcased a line up off all chick dj’s who threw down hard! The night was super rad, i ended up losing all my friends and taking some compromising photos which will most likely surface on facebook in the near future. And yet amongst all the madness, i found something in my brain i can talk about on here.

Edits are definetly a huge part of my set. It’s basically squeezing all the juice out of your favourite tracks, putting it in a blender adding a few chops and your own beats, and VOILA, its a recipe to hype up the crowd. I usually don’t post these smaller edits of tracks that i do for live shows, but fuck it.
