The ever artistic rap recluse Kid Cudi released his latest track last week and I’m happy to say it’s exactly what I expected. Keeping with his rock inspired sound Cudi releases a melodic track reminiscent of his first major hit Day N’ Night. Check out Kid Cudi’s latest below and keep a close eye to see what is next from the lonely stoner.
Kid Cudi just released the artwork for his new single, I didn’t post the track when it first came out but there is some new mystery to the track. Cudi went to his facebook page today to say: “JUST WHAT I AM… coming October 2nd” which is pretty peculiar considering the tracks already out. Perhaps that means a video or an itunes version but who knows… could mean an EP or mixtape. We’ll have to wait and see, but for now enjoy the track and the new artwork.
Kid Cudi’s newest single, Revofev, was leaked or released (you never really know these days) late last week. He had been performing the song since early June but a CD quality download is now making its rounds throughout the blogs. Cudi’s new album will be called Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, and is set for release on September 14th. Perhaps in the title he is referring to his recent out of control ways: getting kicked off Live Nation’s tour for jumping into the crowd to pummel an innocent fan or getting arrested for a controlled substance earlier this month. No matter, most artists are completely insane anyways, I just hope the music is good. Cudi takes a lot of flak from haters I’ve noticed, namely because they classify him as a rapper per say. There is no rapping in this song however, its a folksy melodic tune with a catchy hook that features Cudi singing to the kids. Download it below.

An alternate (and in my opinion better) video for KiD CuDi’s Pursuit of Happiness, just dropped.
I remember seeing the above video a while back, and have been waiting to hear the “dubstep-psychadellic-rocabilly-on acid” that Diplo talked about. Unfortunately, this track still hasn’t surfaced yet (if it even exists), but a collaboration between Snoop, Kid Cudi and Diplo has. This track will be on the deluxe re-release of Snoop’s latest album Malice in Wonderland, which will come packaged with a full-length movie. We’ve been getting a ton of releases from Diplo as of late, across a really wide range of styles, and I’ve yet to be disappointed. I could really see this track getting some major play on the mainstream radio.

A little VIKING for all you crazy boys and girls! I must say, my brief trip back to MTL for the Bloody Beetroots on Halloween certainly stirred up some nostalgic feelings of longing…longing to be back in the city I loved for so long with all of my greatest friends, getting all fuzzy and sloppy, touchy and feely, loving life to the fullest! Hope everyone out there had a great weekend. Here’s a little pop gem, I recently found, bringing together two SW.com favorites, Kid Cudi and Shakira. I don’t have too much to write about the song itself, its a great uptempo pop track with some interesting synth work. Shakira is definitely a disco siren of mine, check out the video above, and grab the track bellow.
