FOOTWORKIN #1 by FOOTWORKIN

Hey guys, just wanted to spread the word on a sick new monthly going down in Montreal. The night’s called Footworkin’ and its brought to you by Markus G of LOL Boys and Laurent Bassols aka Azamat B. The night has a really fun and forward vision that I’m definitely co-signing with.

In there own words, “hip hop. house. global ghetto music. trap. swag. juke. bass music. whatever man…… fuck…..
A musical journey bringing you top cuts from the favelas of Brazil to the warehouses of London with a quick stop in Detroit & Chicago. A new monthly at Blizzarts. Some serious jetset shit.”

If your wondering what this could possibly sound like, check out the mixtape posted above for a little sonic preview of things to come. Tracklist after the jump. Info on the flyer above.

Breakin’ Dawn Tour featuring Brother Ali, Fashawn, and BK-One in Montreal.
Sunday, April 11th at Foufounes Electriques.*

Minneapolis-bred MC and Rhymesayers representative *Brother Ali* will be performing in Montreal alongside California’s own *Fashawn* and labelmate BK-One at Foufounes Electriques on Sunday April 11th as part of the *Breakin’ Dawn Tour*.

Brother Ali is touring North America with a relentless drive that has established him as one of the most electrifying live hip hop acts in the world. His baritone voice, flawless delivery, and profound subject matter hits a strong note with fans that appreciate music that is thought-provoking and uplifting at the same time. A true champion of the people, Ali never forgets anybody in his rhymes- man, woman, or child- as heard on the recent cuts “House Keys”, “Games”, or “You Say (Puppy Love).”

He’ll be joined by Fresno, California’s youngest and mightiest voice Fashawn. The up-and-coming MC has been making a lot noise in the rap game since the release of the mixtape “The Antidote” entirely produced by
heavyweight The Alchemist and his celebrated first LP “Boy Meets World,” which made its way on everyone’s top 10 hip hop albums of the year list. He was recently announced on XXL Magazine’s Freshmen 2010 list.

It was a cold night in Montreal. -43 degrees to be exact. Those who braved the extreme conditions were witness to one of the most well rounded sets in recent memory. We recorded it for your listening pleasure and will be posting it in the near future along with a video interview and footage from the night. Until then, enjoy some pictures and follow the links to hit up our friends Goldzmine, 4mtl, and nightlife who came out and took photos. Bigs up to KIMBERLY KITTY and the whole SW team B. Neal, Chef Brian, and the ever popular and gaining fame Kid Aloha for killing the opening sets. Check more pics after the JUMP!

Keys N’ Krates are like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Using live instrumentation, turntablism, and live sampling to flip music right before your eyes, KNK have ‘re‐invented the remix’. The trio consists of world champion turntablist and certified DJ Jr-Flo (Eh! Team), the ever soulful Matisse on keys and Tune on drums. URB Magazine recently ranked Keys N’ Krates in their prestigious NEXT100 musicians of the year, and their mini-documentary on the group (below) explains why KNK’s live remix is something you have to see to believe.

LUNICE – (LuckyMe) – LIVE PA

Designer Drugs @ SAT in Montreal (Saintwoods TV)

Debated posting this just because the video footage is poorly shot (our camera man got too wasted) but people have told me they found it entertaining just cause of how wasted everybody is. Enjoy!

More vids from our video production unit this week. woot woot.

Kill Halloween Starring The Bloody Beetroots in Montreal (Saintwoods TV)

We keeps it coming, as promised. This was definitely our most epic party to date, although I have a feeling we may top it in March when Calvin Harris and Laidback Luke…I’ve said too much. For this vid, we had a lot of great long shots from the night so you can really see what you missed or re-live that magical/totally evil affair. Had to start the vid with the extended intro of Warp 1977 just cause it was so crazy. Does anyone have footage from the back? I was standing back there with the lighting guy and it looked wayyy more intense.

PS This one is a must watch in HD because it was shot on the Cannon 5d. So follow the link and click the highest quality…almost as if you can reach into the screen and pull the image out.
PPS The track played for the extended intro with the quick cuts is a preview of Love Thy Brother’s new song which will drop soontime.
