It’s been a while now hasn’t it… Finally, we have a new track from the reigning kings of Electro, MSTRKRFT. They add their signature remix-touch to the Katy Perry summer smash hit, California Girls. Excited to hear what you guys think. Props to Hypetrak for the stream.
First off, this Friday @ the SAT was amazing. Big ups to my fellow bloggers Chef Brian and B. Neal, who both did a great job in the opening and closing spots. Love Thy Brother tore it up as usual and Designer Drugs played an amazing set from start to finish. I got to test out some new tracks, including an original that you’ll hear more about in the future.
Anyways, I just recently stumbled across this amazing video of MSTRKRFT and the Bloody Beetroots at this summer’s Pukkelpop. I love videos like this that really let you feel like you were there, I swear I can feel the sweaty atmosphere of the festival leaking through my laptop. I’ve heard the craziest things about the “Boiler Room” at Pukkelpop, and this video definitely gives you a little glimpse of the insanity.
On a side note, I’m getting antsy for some new MSTRKRFT.
Reset!Straight out of Italy and following in the footsteps of past electro stalwarts BBR and Crookers for all my bass-hungry electro-loving verterans, you are going to love this ultra dirty track.
Big ups to our boy’s Josh Seaton and the whole Touch Entertainment team and Rasheed, the El Entertainment booking machine, for taking chances and spreading dance music out of the inner cities. Tonight will be MAJOR and what you guys are doing is important and groundbreaking for this music and culture. So we at SaintWoods say…Good on ya!
Proving again that Ontario, Canada is probably one of the biggest Electro spots in North America another University town is getting that Electro fever. Thanks to the guys at Touch entertainment who have been steadily growing the scene out in Waterloo this past year they’ve now got one of biggest names in the Game MSTRKRFT rolling in for a massive party on Wednesday Sept 9th at ELEMENTS CLUB. From cottage country to small town University cities Ontario is at the forefront of bringing Electro to the mainstream thanks in part to the dedicated party-throwers like Touch who are spreading the word.
This is a massive one from Laidback Luke, which surprisingly isn’t getting too much blog buzz yet. The track has a pretty massive intro section, before dipping into John Legend’s vocals and the track’s signature piano riff. Laidback Luke then flips and mangles the original piano line into something barely recognizable but still banging. With the killer production this year from the likes of Laidback Luke, Don Diablo, Sidney Samson, and Afrojack 2009 is shaping up as the year of the Dutch. Look out France and Italy there’s a new power house on the continent.
