Tasteless! Shameless! Downright un-classy! All Star Weekend got taken to a whole new level this year and our good friend Alex, (Lukewarmgirls) made us this promo vid to showcase the parties.

University All Star Weekend happens every year here in the Monty ever since the godfather Noah Buchman started it five years back. This year, we partnered with Pornhub.com and Beach Travellers and took things to a whole other level. Three parties in three nights which featured: Bouncy castle’s with balls inside, inflatable boxing rings, fuzzy mascots, a ridiculous wet t-shirt contest, funnel stations in the club, all sorts of giveaways, great music courtesy of Barletta, Golden Gloves, Duvall, Torro Torro, Love Thy Brother, Kid Aloha and so much more.

This footage is just a glimpse, I am still trying to sort out where we can even release the x-rated images that were captured on those sloppy nights back in September. Until then, enjoy…

You might have heard by now…or seen pictures floating around Facebook or Flickr. For those who haven’t let me just start by stating that the first two weeks of September were OUT OF CONTROL. Too out of control for facebook it seems, which has deleted all of our group photos and disabled our frontman Nathan’s account. Check pics, stories, and get the full recap below…

D.I.M. & Autoerotique @ Club Soda: 05.09.09.

SaintWoods’ first foray into larger scale production was a smashing success. The club was packed, the DJ’s killed, and the lights were spectacular. Around midnight the line got a little crazy…there were definitely some girls crying as people frantically pushed and shoved in drunken confusion. As people were scrambling outside and the club was rapidly filling, Autoerotique played a fantastic set highlighted by a Neoteric Pon De Floor mix, as well as their Gladiator track, remixed by Aoki and DJ AM RIP. They also played an ongoing tribute to the great AM, slipping in his favourite scratch sample the famous “AWW YEAH” hook, over numerous tracks throughout the night.

After trying to deal with the hectic line situation, we waited anxiously in traffic on the way to picking up a tired D.I.M., who had come in from playing a show in Rochester the previous night, and was due to play Labor of Love in Toronto the next day. D.I.M. (Andi) turned out to be a super swell guy, although kind of menacing in appearance…(or maybe its just cause I’m half Jewish that I’m always slightly intimidated by large, loud German men). We took him through the back after taking a glimpse at the front of the club and seeing the line situation hadn’t improved a whole lot. Andi was a little anxious to get his blood flowing, and upon arrival promptly downed a full glass of straight vodka without so much as blinking an eye. We told him he had a good half an hour before he was due to take the 1′s and 2′s…relieved, he poured himself a dab of OJ with his next drink. I left him in good hands (HOLLER AT YOUR BOY BIG J) as I went to see what was happening out front. Let me just apologize to anyone who was caught in that madness, because it seemed like it would never end. Girls were still crying, cheeks were literally squished up against the glass…but finally, after we stood in the hallway and forced everyone who was let in to file through properly, we were able to clear the line.

D.I.M. took to the booth around 1:30 and began his set by shutting off the music and applauding Autoerotique, the crowd joined…classy move. He proceeded to rip through classics (‘Under the Sun’ being the most memorable to me), mixing them in with some more minimal sounds…all in all an extremely well rounded set that left the crowd wanting more. Actually though, it was the latest I’ve ever seen the floor still packed at a SaintWoods party…(our crowd usually gets too drunk or hooks up, so its packed at 1:15, clearing out starting at 2:15). A highlight for me, other than Lyposuct of course, was his banger “Is You.” He bumped the harder JFK remix and during the bridge and build blew kisses to the adoring crowd as the lyrics “I’m With You,” spilled out of the speakers. When it dropped, hands went up all the way to the back of the dancefloor and up to the top balconies. It sent a shiver down my spine.

There were numerous AP’s that night but we couldn’t seem to bring them all together despite numerous texting attempts. Needless to say, the parties raged till the sun came up and when we picked up Andi to drive him to the airport he was in rough shape. No matter, I heard he killed Toronto…must have just downed an extra glass or two of straight goose.

ALL STAR WEEKEND

All Star Weekend this year blew minds. It definitely set a new standard. To be honest, I don’t know if that kind of bout-it-ness will ever be seen at a McGill party again. This was some American style, public displays of nudity type shit. Girls were a little repulsed, guys were in awe. It was fantastic. Big ups to our partners on the events Afterdark and Fresh, and to the up and comers taking over Hype who did a fantastic job. Here is the recap for any of you who missed it.

ASW LAUNCH AT CLUB OPERA – 10.09.09.
Opera is usually our ASW Friday night spot but they have been having capacity issues of late so we had to throw down on Thursday night and limit ticket sales a bit. Bottles were popped, including a life size bottle of Moet that kept us in the club until 3:45. It was the epitome of everything that is wrong with the western wold in our booth upstairs…already plastered kids trying desperately to finish a 12 liter $3800.00 bottle of champagne while antsy bouncers tried to kick us out one by one. Barletta absolutely killed it. I mean KILLED it. His sound is meant for that big room lavish style club with massive speakers…highlight of my night for dam sure. Engaging in a heated argument with a very bitter, difficult, 40 year old lighting technician who probably hasn’t gotten laid in god knows how long, about how shitty and minimal the lights were…not so much.

MARDI GRAS AT LE MEDLEY – 11.09.09.
This party was absolute bonkers…Right from the beginning something special was in the air. Around 11:45, when we started distributing the beads girls were just openly flashing to get them. “Ok,” I thought, “No big deal, it’s a Mardis Gras party after all.” Around 12:30 the club filled and we spent a stressful 15 minutes trying to get everyone to clear off the stage so we could start the Wet T-shirt contest. Our friends at Pornhub.com had arrived early, and were partying in the upstairs dressing room. The three girls that they brought with them, who were supposed to be the main attractions of the wet t-shirt contest were getting progressively drunker each time I came to check on them…another good sign. Golden Gloves had the crowd going off with a sick party anthem infused set…we definitely got to bring them back next semester. After clearing the stage and organizing seven drunk girls (a lot fucking easier said than done) we were ready. Six girls took positions below the stage on semi-elevated platforms with fully loaded supersoakers. Juggie, Torro Torro‘s hype man took the mic…”Do you want to see these girls get wet?” The crowd roared its approval. Some girls in the front row shook their heads in dismay. ‘Get Low’ by Lil Jon blared through the speakers. White shirts got wet, no bras underneath. The crowd was roaring in loving disbelief. After the field was narrowed to 4, one of the girls took things to a whole other level, stripping off both thong and shirt, leaving her completely naked and soaking wet in front of 1200+ rowdy students. For all that bout-it-ness however, the crowd voted in favor of our girl Staz! (BIG UP) whose occasional teasing flashes, coupled with a very nice endowment, left them wanting more. The overly bout it girl came in second. (Seriously…legs spread, vag all hanging out…it was (Almost) too much man! We did have to tell her to chill out a bit haha) The poor girl who came in third was kicked out for being too drunk before she even received her third place prize money. We didn’t waste any time letting the shocked crowd soak it all in. Torro Torro’s hard electro bumped, water guns were distributed, and we busted out the funnel stations. All in all…a memorable affair which left us wondering…what if we put something like this together with our new best friends at pornhub and took our show on the road? Hmm…Southern Ontario maybe? GRAND FINALE (SAINTWOODS.COM) AT THE S.A.T. – 12.09.09.

Love Thy Brother (SaintWoods)

Bouncy castles, an inflatable boxing ring, mascots, SaintWoods T’s everywhere, Love Thy Brother, Kid Aloha…(The SaintWoods DJ team). We were all tired, but you got to go hard or go home…so hard is what we went. When we brought the mascots to the stage people really didn’t know what the hell was going on. That’s what every outlandish big idea’d event planner dreams of. (Ok we’re greasy promoters, fuck off) Our fave host ever…the overly endowed, retardedly hot Jenny Poussin was front and center, dancing her ass off for 2 plus hours. In the inflatable boxing ring, a friend told me that he saw a girl knock a guy out cold. I wish I bore witness. In the bouncy castle, kids (sometimes dangerously too many) frolicked happily, while the packed and sweaty dancefloor was, well…just that, thanks to the collective efforts of Love Thy Brother and Kid Aloha. The club looked fantastic with six screens scattered throughout and our VJ (Chef Josef) who was nice enough to help us out of a jam did a fantastic job keeping fresh material rolling all night. The S.A.T. is so great because you can go in the back and be in a more loungy setting or go to the front and be in the middle of an insane dancefloor. There were kids chilling, dancing, making a party of their own in all corners of the venue…it was great to see. A fitting end to a truly ridiculous two weeks.
