MIXTAPES!

2990audio_cassette

Just got back from a week in Halifax, hence the lack of posts with my name on them over the past week. While I was away it seemed like the internet was flooded with free mixtapes, promo mixes, and live sets from all over the electronic music spectrum. I thought I’d dedicate a post to all of these by simply embedding the Soundcloud players from all of the respective artists so you can stream and download with ease! We’ve got Saintwoods’ favorite Brodinski’s newest HipHop/Electro Mixtape, a live set from Montreal native Tiga, Solo’s newest mix packed with tons of exclusives, and finally 2 hours of amazing house music from one of my favorite groups Round Table Knights.

TIGA – WHAT YOU NEED (CHROMEO REMIX)

chromeo-band-photo1

Turbo has just released the second round of remixes for Tiga’s ‘What You Need’. It features remixes from Chromeo, Steve Aoki, and A-Trak. A-Trak’s made a great bass line driven groove and Aoki has put his signature ‘peak time’ club touch on it, but its Chromeo’s remix which is a bit more inspired. It’s almost more of a cover as Dave has put his own vocals in the track and its filled with the funky analog synths we’ve come to know and love from the Montreal duo.

HARVARD BASS

Cali based producer/dj Harvard Bass has been generating some serious buzz as of late. His style is truly unique as he manages to mix melodic builds and breakdowns with huge basslines. First up, is the original ‘Caked.’ This is a bit older, but is a straight banger and one of my absolute favorite songs to hear live. It’s getting tons of play from the likes of Tiga, Boys Noize, and Crookers. Next up is his remix of ‘Rush Hour’ by The Toxic Avenger. While this is a bit different then the music I would generally post, it’s a great minimal track in its own right.
